Letter Number 30 ?          Allerey  January 16th
Dear Mother and family,
Found letter of Jan 18, 22, and 25th waiting me upon my arrival last evening, and the enclosed from Miss Worsley came today.
All of our patients have gone and we are packed.  I have spent the morning washing and packing.  Miss Carlson and four others were transferred this morning to Evacuation hospital 19 in this camp as they signed up for further service while I was away.  I hope to be transferred with them as I had signed the first paper that came out.  Wish we could go up into Germany.  Met in Paris nurses from Base 26 enroute to Germany having received orders last Sunday.  They said Joe Mosser had been detached from the unit.  Believe her went somewhere with their commanding officer.  I do not want to cross the Atlantic in February.
Margaret and Fanny, why did you not tell me earlier you wanted cameos.  I got one for mother, but never thought of "you uns."  Thought you would prefer German souvenirs, but if I do not stay over longer you will not have even those.  The helmet from Miss Dunlop has arrived and I fancy will take Harold's eye.
The Minneapolis film is also here and we are to see it his evening.  Theodore Roosevelt will be missed.
I am sending the Stars and Stripes of January 10th.  Sent you last weeks from Nice, also mailed you a card from Italy.
The thoughts of that plum pudding and custard males my mouth water.  There is nothing like it and I missed it sadly at Christmas.
Glad to hear Otto is safe.
Will write again in a few days.
                         Love to all,  Jane
