Liverpool, Tuesday
My dear Folks,
I think the activities of the last four day will fill a letter so I will chronicle them now during these few idle moments.
To go back to last Saturday-We took a long walk with Maggie Lyon and her two children through Lower and higher Bebington going through both churches.  In the former saw Edith Harding who looks just the same pleasant but rather peculiar.  For instance if took her several minutes to convince her that she had even seen us before.  She said Herbert went down to the dock Friday morning about 8 o'clock and was told we would not be in before midnight.  She said several times she hoped she would see us again asked where we were staying and where we were going but did not invite us to Stanton.  Now we had received an invitation from Flo through Floss, but since Edith said nothing I did not see as we could do anything but ignore it.
Sunday morning it poured.  We stayed in bed until 11:30.  Went to church at 6:30, and then to Bertha's fro supper.  Mr. Baker had spent the day at Frog Lane.  He cycles there frequently Saturday afternoons and remains over Sunday.  We do have the best things to eat especially the ten o'clock suppers.  Kitty and Percy returned Saturday afternoon from Wales.  Percy came down to see us on Saturday evening and Kitty on Sunday afternoon.  We like her immensely.
Monday we took the 8:15 train to Church Stretton.  Went on an excursion ticket only $1.25 and return.  Just missed connections at Shrewsbury, so spent the one and half hours seeing the town.  Reached Church Stretton at 1:10.  Such a pretty village in the hills,  Walked out a mile to Grove House where we saw Mrs. McClintock, the doctor being on his vacation.  Ha dinner and saw Miss Rebecca.  She is certainly demented having the strangest delusions.  She remembered Clara, Miss Hill and Margaret being in England together and could tell how long each stayed and where they visited.  Seemed glad to see us, asked where we were going and wished us a pleasant summer.  She ahs been confined to her bed for twelve months and looks quite frail.  I think she is well cared for.  It is a beautiful big home.  Beautifully situated in its own grounds.  We walked around the village, left at four, and had another one and a half hours in Shrewsbury.  So glad to have seen this town.  We found the churches locked up, but saw so much of interest as the Castle, Old Town Hall, stone pulpit, old Grammar schools, new museum, etc.  Reached home at 8:30 and found Percy at the depot.  He brought us home in a taxi.  Found letters.
We are going to Maggie's in a few minutes to spend the evening.  She had two children.  Leonard is a nice bright lad, but poor Margorie.  We are going to Manchester Thursday morning.  Have enjoyed our visit here but must hurry around.  Love Jane.
